  • Lincoln JV boys post huge win over Clark Fork JV

    Connie McAfferty, BVD|Updated Jan 30, 2019

Like youngsters who are all arms and legs but fall down a lot, the tall timbers of the Clark Fork Mountain Cats, who as a team posted an average height of 6-feet, 1-inch, will grow into their size some day but it wasn’t today. The halftime score was 10 - 2 which almost had the local fans rooting for Clark Fork to make another basket before the mid-point buzzer. The final tally, 23 - 6 was a big victory for the Lynx. Ryan Greenwood, who never played basketball until this winter, was the high scoring man with 12 points, f...

  • Lynx varsity sink Mountain Cats

    Connie McAfferty, BVD|Updated Jan 30, 2019

For a little high school like Lincoln, playing a combine of two separate high schools can be intimidating, but the Lynx brought their courageous A-game to the floor on Saturday night against the Mountain Cats of Superior/Alberton (called"Clark Fork"). The Lynx were ahead at the half, 25 - 18. Their lead slowly grew in the second half even though Kade Creech fouled out in the fourth period after scoring six points. • Victor Pirates force Lynx Varsity to walk the plank

    Connie McAfferty, BVD|Updated Jan 30, 2019

After the raucous home games of last week, the MOA sent up some of their best refs to bring law and order back to Blackfoot Valley athletics Friday, Jan. 26. Instant whistles for infractions and two quick technical fouls on each team for unsportsmanlike conduct in the first minute of the game told everyone that these officials were in charge...

  • Lady Lynx clobber WSS Hornets

    Connie McAfferty, BVD|Updated Jan 22, 2019

Senior star Maggie Jorgensen sank the first bucket against the White Sulphur Springs lady Hornets Friday, and that was as close as the Hornets ever got to catching the wily, confident Lady Lynx. The totals at the half were 17 - 4 and the only question still in the air was how long Coach Ken Lumpkin would leave his starters in, even as they got in foul trouble early. "I left them in on purpose," Lumpkin said. "I'm teaching them a slide foot method of defense instead of always...
