Fiber Guild returns to Lincoln with new name

Beginning in September, the Lincoln Fiber Guild will begin meeting again, but this time under a new name, The Lincoln Fiber Circle.

Resident, Tammy Jordan returned to Lincoln in March of this year after a brief stint living in Billings. She was disappointed to learn the fiber guild was no longer getting together, so, she decided to revive it, but with a new twist. Rather than label the group with the word "guild," she thought the word "circle" was less formal and more welcoming. She really wants people to come down, gather, learn, and most of all, have fun!

Understanding that Lincoln is a small, yet diverse community, she thought it was important to create a group that included all types of fiber artists. Whether someone knits, spins, weaves, crochets, sews, felts or practices any of the many fiber art mediums, they would all be welcome to gather in one place and connect with one another. In the past, the former guild had been an inspiration and learning resource to Tammy, and ultimately prompted her to begin her own fiber arts business.

It's really important for her to be able to give back to the community and provide that same opportunity to others.

The Lincoln Fiber Circle meets the second Saturday of each month from 11a.m.-1p.m. at the Lincoln Library. During the week prior to each of the meetings, the library will host a "make-and-take" class where Tammy will provide instruction on various fiber arts. Please join her at the library Monday, Sept. 6 from 5-7p.m. to learn how to create felted soap and needle-felt your own designs.
