Obituary: Lavonne "jolly" McGladrey

LaVonne "Jolly" (Swan) Douglas-McGladrey, 87, of Greeley, Colo., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018 at her home.

She was born on February 21, 1931 in Lewiston, Montana to Frank and Stella Swan and raised by Stella and Wallace Fleury.

LaVonne grew up in Fairfield, Montana and had lived in Washington, Alaska and Colorado as well. She worked as a dental assistant, but first and foremost, she was the best homemaker ever. LaVonne was a member of the Eagle's Club for 30 years.

LaVonne loved music, dancing, reading and crossword puzzles. She also loved hummingbirds, traveling, sewing and sweets.

LaVonne is survived by her daughters, Sandi (Ernie) Brooks, Evon Aldrich and Bobbie (Rich) Hayes; sister, Marlene Huerta; brother, Gilbert Fleury; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
