Lady Lynx Jr. Varsity face-off against local rivals Seeley Lake

When the Lincoln volleyball court sports a home game with neighboring Seeley Lake Blackhawks, the visitors section for spectators is packed with plenty of out-of-town fans who root for their team at the top of their voices. The roar is intimidating for the opposing Lynx ladies but even scarier is the No. 1 spot the Blackhawks hold in District 13 C.

A young Lynx squad, made up of mostly freshman, came out bravely and did their best for Coach Angela Krier, but the game was a three and out for

Lincoln, 8-24, 15-25, 4-15.

Andrea LaManna and Nikki Snyder could not play the full sets because they

were going to be moved up to the varsity game later in the day to replace senior player Tanea Reisch, who was ineligible this week. LaManna and Snyder are two of the best JV hitters and the Lincoln effort missed their full contributions.

Five-foot, eight inch LaManna had a dramatic block at the net in the second set; freshman Alyvia Blotkamp hammered a serving ace and Snyder pumped up the stats with two kills and two assists. Senior hitter Alyssa Rios had a 100 percent serving accuracy and one ace while providing on-court leadership during the volleys for the younger ladies.

Next, the JV Lynx ladies stand up to powerhouse Darby, Saturday, Oct. 6 at 4 p.m.
