Despite loss, Lady Lynx JV squad shaping up as a strong team for the future

The JV Saturday afternoon contest started off with a come-from-behind win in the first set, but fell in the following match ups: 25-21, 17-25, 13-15 and 7-15.

In past years, the Lady Lynx have not always had enough players to field a JV squad, so this bunch of Freshman and Sophomore gals bodes well for the varsity who will graduate four seniors from the team in the spring.

Outstanding JV hitters were Andrea LaManna who had four of the team's six kills and Alle Russ who had the most rocket serves of the team total 14 aces.

Lindsey Weisner was the most reliable server with a 100 percent success rate and two aces.

The volleyball season is winding down. The last home match for JV and varsity squads before District competition is Thursday, Oct.18 at 5:30, against the visiting Victor Lady Pirates.

Coach Mannix is hoping the team can carry their tune for a few more weeks.
