Lincoln Lady Lynx sing a new song: 'Hey, Hey, Goodbye!'

Varsity volleyball coach Stacey Mannix, all smiles after the three and out victory over the St. Regis Lady Tigers Saturday night, said, "This team is singing their song again."

The last set was a close call and the score was tied up seven times coming down the home stretch, but the Lincoln ladies never sank into singing the Blues.

The fans were hoarse from yelling, but the experienced juniors and seniors of the varsity squad just kept pounding the volleyball over the net, wearing down the visiting Lady Tigers and never losing their poise and determination. Final stats proclaimed a Lincoln Lynx win: 25-19, 25-17 and 27-25.

All the weight of the squad's success came down on veteran senior Carly Templeton, who served up the last two winning points with steely determination in the third set.

"It was sooo stressful! I just kept thinking of my team and what it would mean for us to win," said a jubilant Templeton after the game,

Junior setter Sage Kamps and Freshman Jenna Templeton had perfect 100 percent successful serves; Maggie Jorgensen had ten of the team's 29 kills and Lexi Cannon had the most aces. The team as a whole had 64 digs and two stuffed blocks at the net.

Six-foot Cannon is the go-to lady for spikes over the net along with energetic Maggie Jorgenson whose spikes sometimes go flying into the next county.
