Little Lynx Ladies out score Helena Christian Rams

Coach Shane Smith had his junior high ladies in top form to face down the Lady Rams from Helena Christian School in a fast paced competitive contest Saturday afternoon, Jan. 12.

The Lincoln squad managed to stay at least one basket ahead of the opponents until half time.

Running out of the locker room for the third period, the eyes of the Jr Hi Lynx blazed with renewed determination as they slowly but inevitably widened the gap. The final buzzer put the 23 - 16 win in the Lincoln column much to the elation of the families and friends of the victorious players.

Kylee Copenhaver and Jessica Zarske both fouled out in the fourth quarter, demonstrating the fierce and energetic defensive maneuvers that the ladies piled on to the Rams.

Krymzen Dempster was the high scoring leader with seven points and Jessica Zarske racked up six. Dempster, the floor leader and fearless guard, kept the team organized and running the plays. Maddi Sampson beat out many opponents in the fight under the bucket for rebounds, putting her height and size to strategic use. Sampson also added six points to the winning total.

The next game for the Little Lynx ladies is Tuesday, Jan. 15, at home. against rival Drummond starting at 4:30 p.m.
