Barbara Kay Kemp was born Aug. 25, 1946 in Auburn, Calif. She grew up in the small town of Greenwood, Calif. where her parents owned Kemp's Grocery and she attended a one room school house through Grade 8. She graduated from Placer High School, after many long bus rides from Greenwood to Auburn.
Barbara was married 46 years to her true love, Terry Allen Peetz. She lived most of her life in California, helping Terry raise his daughters Kim and Keri in Fort Bragg.
After retiring, Barbara and Terry moved to Lincoln, Mont. in 1995. They were quickly surrounded by a loving and supportive community. Each found comfort in different groups of friends and clubs in town, yet both truly loved their peaceful home in Patterson Prairie.
Throughout her life, Barbara loved riding horses and had strong affection for her multiple cats. Her many passions included gardening, feeding animals (like birds, deer, squirrels, chipmunks and hummingbirds), shopping and enjoying the serenity of their secluded hideaways. She showed her artistic creativity by painting rocks and making gift bows-both of which she shared with friends.
Barbara is survived by her loving family: stepdaughter Keri, Keri's husband Marlin, and her grandchildren Drew, Kate, and Kristen. She will be missed here on Earth, yet her friends and family in Heaven welcome her home.
