Lincoln Airport S69 Open House and BBQ

For the last 16 years, Lincoln resident and pilot Jerry Cain has hosted an annual fly-in barbecue and potluck at his Lincoln Airport hangar for Montana and out-of-state pilots to enjoy.

Lincoln Airport is a state-owned airport managed and maintained by the Montana Aeronautics Division of the Montana Transportation Department. For the last three years, and continuing this year, Cain has hosted a Community Airport Open House and Fly-in Barbecue Potluck. The event is open to the public at no charge to allow people to become familiar with Lincoln Airport and its value to the Lincoln community.

The airport will be open to the public Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. During that period, Experimental Aircraft Association Young Eagle Flights will be offered free to youth between the ages of eight and 17.

Cain will host his Fly-in Barbecue Potluck from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from 2 to 3 p.m., Tom Culbert will give a presentation on his non-fiction book PAN AFRICA - Across the Sahara in 1941 with PAN AM in Cain's hangar.

The Lincoln community emergency service organizations and other service providers have been invited to display their equipment and interact with the public as available. Other aviation related organizations that utilize Lincoln Airport are also being invited. Local hangar owners will have their hangars open and airplanes on display, as will those who fly in for the event.

Come on out to the Lincoln Airport to see all the airplanes and equipment on display, interact with your community service organizations, enjoy the barbecue and bring a food dish to share with your community members and visitors.
