Public invited to view roundabout design for Lincoln Rd. - Applegate Dr. intersection

HELENA – The Montana Department of Transportation will host an open house on Thursday, Aug. 8 between 4 and 6:30 p.m. to present the information on the roundabout planned for the Lincoln – Applegate Intersection Project. The project will help address traffic safety and improve operations of the Lincoln Road and Applegate Drive intersection north of Helena.

"Based on the safety and traffic analysis, and input from the community at our last public meeting, MDT determined that the intersection would benefit the most from a roundabout design," said Michael Grover, MDT Traffic Project Engineer.

The open house is scheduled to be held at the Rossiter Elementary School Gymnasium at 1497 Sierra Road East in Helena. Community members are encouraged to stop by anytime between 4 and 6:30 p.m. to view the new roundabout design.

"MDT is working to design this roundabout to minimize impacts to local property owners," said Grover. "The footprint is significantly smaller than the nearby Green Meadow Roundabout."

Construction of the project is anticipated to take place in 2021.
