Fun during the school open house
Kids swarmed the school's playground at the annual school event designed to give parents and community members a chance to meet the school staff and visit the classrooms. It was also a chance to enjoy a meal hosted by the Lincoln Parent-Teacher-Student- Organization, which seemed to be a hit. Chuck Dietz, who prepared the barbecued pork for the meal, planned for 200 meals, and they came close. Aaron Birkholz, who helped keep track of the meals, said they served 172 plates this year.
For parents, the open house is also a chance to connect withtheir kids' teachers, talk about the upcoming school year and meet new staff members. This year there were several staff changes including the new school secretary Danielle Barnett, new teachers Nicole Drake (Pre-school), Loretta Greenough (2nd Grade), Christy Mahog (Physical Education), Nancy Schwalm (Science), and the return of Jeanette Winslow (Family and Consumer Science).
