Jr Hi Lady Lynx "B Team" romps over Helena Christian Rams

Friday the 13th of September was an unlucky night for the Helena Christian Rams volleyball "B squad" of 5th, 6th and some 7th grade ladies as they rolled into Lincoln to be squashed by the Lynx in three straight sets.

Assistant Coach Brenna Clark had her younger Lincoln players in top form and their serves seemed almost automatic.

The score, 15-8, 15-3 and 15-0, demonstrated that the Helena ladies had lost their confidence and energy during the lopsided point spread.

Seventh grader Delia Tolan had the most consistent serving streaks. In set three, Delia served 15 straight points, astonishing the spectators.

In the older girls "A squad" game, Kylee Copenhaver led her team in a valiant effort to keep the Lincoln wins coming, aided by her sister Makena Copenhaver and seventh grader Krymzen Dempster.

The first set loss, 14 - 25 was a real eye-opener for the lady Lynx so they got their mo-jo fired up for a scrappy 25-17 win in the second set. The last two sets were fiercely contested and close but the hometown Lynx lost both games 23-25 20-25.

The A squad was hampered by not having the skills of Meah LaManna, who sat out the match with her crutches, and Andrea Weisner who was not able to suit up for the game.

Head Coach Dawn Moles will be working on polishing up her team's ball striking skills before the next home game slated for Saturday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. against perennial powerhouse Valley Christian Eagles of Missoula.
