Nicole Drake is one of the new Pre-K teachers at Lincoln Schools this year. She was inspired by her mother, who is also a Pre-K teacher, to choose this career path.
Drake, from Helena, attended Rocky Mountain College on a soccer scholarship and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She plans to continue on with her education by pursuing her masters in early childhood education.
Her goals for her Pre-K students are simple but far reaching. Getting each child ready for kindergarten both socially and developmentally. This will help them succeed in school and in the rest of their life.
Socially, the Pre-K students learn respect, problem solving and how to resolve issues with each other. Developmentally they begin to learn how to handle structure, routines, and procedures.
Recently married in August to Brad Drake, she was happy to find a job close to home and family.
