I wanted to send out a big Hey Howdy Hey of thanks to the many member of our local Lincoln Ambulance.
These men and women must put in many hours of training before they are able to serve as a member. EMR’s need to put in 70 hours of training. EMT’s 150 to 200 hours, AEMT’s have even more. They are all required a certain amount of training hours every year to keep their license current.
The licensing can cost around $200 but they are reimbursed when they commit to be apart of the crew.
They also have a big area to cover. From Lincoln, they go to Kleinschmidt flats, Nevada Ogden Reservoir, up Hwy 271 for at least 10 miles. Then east over Roger’s Pass to Hwy 424. Over Flesher Pass to almost Canyon Creek.
They transport their patients to Helena, St Peters, to Benefits in Great Falls or to St Patrick’s in Missoula. With all the ground they cover, some days it seems that are going nonstop on calls.
I know there are many members and I can’t begin to name them all, but our little community is so very blessed to have them all. I know they take much pride in the great care they give, and I am very thankful for all that they do.
