U.S. Census bureau begins selection process in preparation of 2020 Census

HELENA-On January 1, the U.S. Census Bureau will begin the selection process for various census positions in preparation of the 2020 Census.

These positions offer competitive pay, flexible hours, paid training and weekly paychecks. Pay rates in the state are around $17 an hour and $19.50 in urban areas and workers will also have their mileage covered. All part-time applicants working on the Montana census will be able to maintain their federal benefits and assistance such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Medicaid (non-MAGI).

After the selection process occurs in January, paid training will occur in March and April. Actual enumeration of non-responding households throughout the nation begins in May through early July. The census is the largest peacetime deployment of civil servants across the country. The census officially begins on April 1, 2020, and for the first time ever, it will have an online option, as well as a phone option, which will make filling out the form easy, safe and secure.
