The Blackfoot Valley's News Source Since 1980
Three or four years ago, when the hordes of Valley Christian lady Eagles rolled into town, the Lincoln Lady Lynx would take a deep breath and get out their game plan for taking down a giant.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
Friday night's away basketball contest in Missoula gave the Lady Eagles a taste of their own medicine as the Lincoln Lady Lynx crushed the 2020 Valley squad 39 - 25. Revenge, even when long-awaited, is just as sweet.
Lincoln had three pointers flying from all over the place, Sage Kamps and Alyvia Blotkamp hitting them at will with two each. Alexis Cannon, camped out in the key for the easy two point bunnies and offensive rebounds, was the lead scorer with her usual 16.
Kamps, the floor general, posted 12 points, and Blotkamp added six. Jenna Templeton made two free throws, Lindsey Weisner took some time out from her intense defense to make a basket as did Jaylin Lewenight and Jessica Zarske.
This night's decisive win may boost the team's confidence to face the current 13-C conference giant, the Seeley Lake Lady Blackhawks.
