Valler Coffee, located at 129 Sucker Creek Road and owned by Jason and Tiana Valler, will be opening to the public two days a week beginning in February and through the winter. The new hours, Fridays and Saturdays, beginning Feb. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. will showcase their award-winning coffee as they focus on bringing the experience of old world brewing techniques to the community and visitors of Lincoln and the surrounding areas.
In addition to coffee, they will also have flowering and herbal teas for purchase along with some sweet and savory baked goods and brioche dough breads. During the weeks leading up to the Race to the Sky event, visitors can view older racing sleds on display in the gallery.
"Just as the school focuses on the hands-on and manual ways of life, our coffee part of our business will be doing the same." Jason said. One of the plans is to bring an Old World European Expresso machine, where the expresso is made over fire instead of the more standardized quick-fix approach and to educate the public about their process and plans for the future. For those wishing to learn more about the whole coffee experience, they will also be hosting classes on coffee with such topics as the beans used in their coffee, how they are harvested, the process of roasting in a high-altitude, and brewing techniques.
"We've received a lot of great feedback from our locals and our artisans, as well as reviews on our coffee and we're just thrilled," Tiana said. According to the Best Quality Coffee website, they have been recognized as one of the premier roasters of coffee in the state of Montana. The Vallers are excited to be offering new items from local artisans as well as the experience of a really good cup of coffee. While patrons and friends enjoy a cup of coffee, they will also have the opportunity to walk through the gallery and to take classes in various hands-on learning techniques such as blacksmithing, weaving, spinning, book making, gardening, and more. Classes will be offered on Saturdays throughout the winter and will be announced shortly. In addition, they are working on their Facebook page and web presence where information will be readily available. Until then, you can contact them for more information on their coffee, the gallery, classes, or any of the other fun and educational events by calling 406-362-4444.
