Lady Lynx varsity swat Lady Hornets 41 - 25

Leading the score from wire to wire, the Lady Lynx varsity was firing on all cylinders in their Friday night basketball contest with the Lady Hornets from White Sulphur Springs.

Under the guidance of floor general Sage Kamps, the Lynx were able to match their defense to the changing Hornet offense and shut down their passing lanes into the key. The Lincoln fans visibly relaxed when the score at half time was 15 - 5. The big margin allowed Coach Kurtis Janzen to give his relief players a lot of court time to practice their skills against a real opponent.

At one point in the fourth period, all five of his starters were relaxing on the bench but when White Sulphur began to out-score the Lincoln ladies, the seniors and juniors came back in to seal the deal.

The Stealing Queen of the evening was Kamps who grabbed seven, followed by Alyvia Blotkamp, who seems to be everywhere at once, taking two. Scoring leader, as usual, was Alexis Cannon who tapped in 15 points, nine coming from her offensive rebounds.

Kamps added 12 to the total score; Jenna Templeton had ten and Andrea LaManna, two, in addition to four rebounds. Maya Whittenberg and Makenzie Storey each made a free throw point and pulled down three rebounds.

The next opportunity to come out and support our athletes is Friday, Feb. 7th against Valley Christian from Missoula, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
