Letter: Appreciates the BVD

To the editor, Roger, Erin and staff of the BVD!

First of all, I’d like to say thank you for the last eight years you have given us folks in Lincoln! I have read the paper for 25 years since I have lived in Lincoln!

A couple of years ago I retired and let me tell you, if it wasn’t for the BVD, I wouldn’t know anything going on in town!

I don’t have a computer or cell phone or satellite TV, so the BVD is a vital source of information to me. And since I retired, other than the BVD, my only other info comes from standing in line at the grocery store! (haha)

Over the years, I have written to the BVD editor a few times. I really do appreciate you letting me have a voice.

Honestly, I love the BVD! It’s fun, informative about what’s going on and informs me of the things to come! I know it’s a lot of work and takes a lot of time to keep us up on meetings, school activities, future events and yes even obituaries!

I like to buy my paper and read it in the morning with my coffee. I have saved some papers that are historic in value!

Please, don’t shut down the paper because it is so vital to our community. Perhaps raising it to a dollar and fifty cents might help. I mean it’s a good value that costs less than a candy bar!

I love the articles, the pictures, smile file and even word of the day! I love the school news and the information about what’s happening right at my fingertips!

I think you folks run a fine paper with easy to understand articles! I appreciate all that you do for us and I’m pretty sure the whole town feels like I do!

So, thank you Roger, Erin and staff. I sure hope you don’t shut down for good. It would be devasting to all of us is you did! So please try and keep the paper going!

Thank you for all you do.
