Library to remain closed, but some services resume

Lewis & Clark Library and branch libraries including Lincoln will remain closed to patrons until further notice to ensure the safety of staff and patrons, and to give Library staff time to prepare procedures for a return to services.

The Library and Library branches will begin to phase in non-contact holds pickup, and Bookmobile stops are being suspended until further notice.

The Library will begin the process of offering curb-side holds pick up at the Augusta, East Helena, Lincoln and Capitol branches May 11. Staff will contact patrons who have holds and schedule a pick up time. Staff will adhere to recommended procedures for social distancing and the cleaning and quarantining of items.

When it is safe to do so under CDC guidelines, all branch libraries will open for browsing and limited library use.

Book drops at most locations will be reopened May 6, so that patrons can begin returning items.

All items will be quarantined for 72 hours, then cleaned before they are available for checkout.
