Stephanie Burns joins Lincoln Public Schools as the new 4th grade teacher this year. She graduated from Montana State University Bozeman with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a specialization in early childhood education.
"This is my second year teaching my own class," said Burns. "Before that, I was an assistant teacher for two and a half years."
Burns taught at Lakeside Elementary as well as at a private school in Miami and is looking forward to getting back in the classroom.
"I took four years off to be a stay at home mom to my kids. I've always known I wanted to be a teacher, so it's great to be back doing what I love," said Burns. "I get to see my oldest throughout the school day as an extra bonus," she added.
"I've always loved driving through this town, and my husband went to school here for elementary school," said Burns on how she chose to teach in Lincoln this year. "We have family here, as well."
Burns adds, "I'm a pretty typical Montanan. I love the outdoors, I try to be crafty, and I just want a simple life."
