A year and a half ago, the push for Youth Dynamics to bring services to our community began.
You may recall an article that was written in the BVD detailing what exactly Youth Dynamics is and what they can do for our community. At that time it was a commonly held belief that Lincoln needed these extra mental health resources. That need has become even more evident with the rise of COVID-19.
COVID has caused anxiety and depression in many, and our children are being affected severely. Being back in school has helped many of the children feel like things are "back to normal", but in-person schooling isn't a guarantee forever. Having mental health resources in place prior to the possi-bility of another shutdown could help many of our town's youth have access to resources they desper-ately need in these unprecedented times.
Even if COVID disappears, our children and their families will always need resources to reach out to in trying times. Our local school provides many resources to the children in our community, however, we can always use more!
I will begin working as a Family Support Assistant for Youth Dynamics this month. Using this new ti-tle, I plan to start working directly with families in Lincoln, trying to find out just what resources they need. I also plan to attend as many community events as possible, ready to provide information and support to this community's youth and their families.
If anyone is interested in resources or just more information, I encourage you to reach out to me at 406-470-0622.
