America Shares Her Wonders With Those Who Have Defended and Sacrificed for Her

As of Veteran's Day, November 11, 2020, United States veterans and Gold Star Families (the immediate family members of fallen service members) will get to visit our nation's wonders for free.

This will include anyone who has worked in the US Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves. Veterans can visit our incredible national parks such as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, or Yosemite for no cost. It also includes historical sites such as Abraham Lincoln's Birthplace in Kentucky, the Civil War Appomattox Court House in Virginia, the Frederick Douglass home in D.C., and forts and battlefields in dozens of states.

The U.S. Park system includes over 2,000 public locations spread out across more than 400 million acres of public lands. These locations include activities to fit any lifestyle; including hiking, fishing, paddling, biking, hunting, stargazing and climbing and they will now be a bit more accessible to those who have served the country. And they are now free for those who have served our country.

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley stated it well when he said, "Our veterans and Gold Star Families have made incredible sacrifices to defend our freedoms and our homeland. Ensuring that they are able to enjoy all of the wonders of the country that they've served is one small way of saying thank you."
