Hey Howdy Hey": The BVD and Lincoln

Just wanted to send out a little Hey Howdy Hey of thanks to the Blackfoot Valley Dispatch.

When I left Lincoln this last time it was mainly because I was worried about my dog. He was needing a little surgery done and with his age I thought it would be best that he be closer to his vet. His surgery went well, and he is doing great now. After we had left Lincoln, we went on close to a month long camping trip. We stayed at Flint Creek Campground between Philipsburg and Georgetown Lake. We met some nice people along the way and made some great memories.

When our trip was over, I had a job waiting for me at Drummond schools. I was also fortunate because there was no place to live in Drummond. A friend of our family had bought a big house and business out in Gold Creek east of Drummond and they needed a caretaker. They have a little garage down below the big house about 50 yards or so that I was able to park my camper in. The best part is with all the hay fields around us, Trooper is in heaven, running around chasing pocket gophers and such. He acts like a young dog once again.

Although I love our little spot out here there is not a day that goes by that I don’t miss my family of friends up in Lincoln Land. I grew up in Drummond, but Lincoln is truly my home. Lincoln is a beautiful place, but it is the wonderful people who make me want to keep coming back. I have not forgotten how well I was treated each time I have come back and. by golly. I am planning on making another return hopefully in the late spring.

But since I have been gone, I have been truly blessed to be able to receive in the mail each week the BVD. It has been great to see all the familiar faces of the people and kids who I dearly miss, and to keep up on the goings on up in Lincoln. And I always seem to be chomping at the bit to see Bill Quay’s Totally Western cartoons.

So, thanks again to all the great folks at the BVD for all they do.

Merry Christmas to all and this is not-so-tiny Jim saying God Bless Us, Every One.
