Lewis and Clark County 911 Center received twenty-two calls for service during the week of Dec. 27, 2020 to Jan.2, 2021 in the Lincoln area.
Deputies performed two traffic stops.
None of those calls for service generated a case report last week. Other calls for service in the Lincoln area last week were one 911 hang-up, one alarm, one citizen assist, one possible domestic, eight false alarms (six being from the same residence), one suspicious call, one trespass issue, and five welfare checks. Lincoln Ambulance responded to one medical call.
With 2020 finally finished, I wanted to share our total call volume for the year 2019 verses the year 2020. I usually share this information at Government Day but due to Covid19, we do not have the same turn out as we once did. Remember, three depu-ties, called "North Deputies," primarily work the areas of Lincoln, Augusta, Wolf Creek, and Craig. We don't work every day together which means we might handle a call outside of our duty sta-tion. Besides the call volume in the Lincoln area, North Deputies responded to 1,117 other calls for service in 2019 and 1,396 other calls for service in 2020. Now, onto the numbers for Lincoln:
• Total number of Calls for Service:
◦ 2019: 1,122 vs. 2020: 1,231
• Total Traffic Enforcement:
◦ 2019: 333 vs. 2020: 216
• Total DUI Enforcement:
◦ 2019: 12 vs. 2020: 9
• Total Drug Calls:
◦ 2019: 2 vs. 2020: 5
• Total Case Load:
◦ 2019: 57 vs. 2020: 90
• Total On-Site Arrest:
◦ 2019: 23 vs. 2020: 12
In reference to on-site arrest, an individual may be charged and served a notice to appear days or even months after a crime has been reported. On-site arrest means the deputy had probable cause to arrest the individual at the time of the call. Most crimes reported start an investigation which can take time and a strong partnership between the Sheriff's Office and the community. De-tectives and the County Attorney's Office will get involved at times to ensure the innocent are not wrongfully charged.
