Community support helps Lincoln Community Hall

The Lincoln Community Hall wishes to thank all who have returned their membership 2021 letters and encourage other citizens to consider joining the Hall if you have not already done so. The Hall relies on community support to maintain the building and ensure its availability for a multitude of community events. Due to its status as a 501c3, all donations, which include memberships, are tax deductible. Rental fees are generally less than comparable event locations in other western Montana locations.

We'd also like to remind the community that the Hall remains open during the COVID-19 pandemic. Renters are required to comply with Lewis & Clark County Board of Health mandates and recommendations to ensure public safety. Potential Hall renters should check with the Board of Health for particular mandates regarding any regulations specific to their intended activities and crowd size.

A few of the public events currently scheduled for the Hall include the Lincoln Loggers Wrestlers, who meet each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for elementary through junior high aged kids; Ezra Schwalm is the wrestlers' coach. The Hall quilters gather at the Hall on Thursdays and each year donate a beautifully crafted quilt each year as a Hall fundraiser. Also scheduled is the Red Cross's Bi-Monthly Blood Drive, with the next one being Feb. 18. Tentative events coming up, still dependent on COVID-19 regulations, include the Fireman's' Ball on the first day of spring, March 20, and in April the Lost Creek Raceway Event will bring folks to town. Other tentatively planned events in May are the Annual Putt-Putt with competition awards and auction to raise funds for our Volunteer Fire Department & Ambulance Service, as well other community organization. The Blackfoot River Ducks Unlimited Banquet which raises funds for waterfowl and wildlife habitat conservation is also tentatively planned in May.

A friend of the Hall and known to many in town, Robert (Pepe) LeDeau passed away last summer after a long illness. In his will, Pepe generously donated his home and land west of town to the Community Hall. According to Hall President Ernie Lundberg the property title is expected to be transferred sometime in February. The property on South Beaver Creek Road. includes a two-story home on 10 acres with live water on the property. The Board is contemplating offering it for sale with expected proceeds helping to maintain the hall in the years to come.

The Community Hall Board of Directors met Jan. 11 for the election of officers. The members of the Board voted to retain current directors for the coming year: Ernie Lundberg-President; Kathy Tams, Jeanette Nordahl, Susie Murphy, Chris Owen, Ethel Sutej, and Renee Lundberg.

The major maintenance project planned for Hall this year is painting the exterior, along with annual cleaning and routine upkeep. Contact any of the directors if you would like to help. Hall members and anyone interested in Hall's activities or projects are most welcome to attend any of the Hall's regularly scheduled meetings. The next meeting will be held March 1 at 1 p.m.

For information about renting the Hall for an event or meeting, please contact Ernie or Renee Lundberg at 406-362-4072.
