It was a night of fun, games, and support for the local Blackfoot River Ducks Unlimited Chapter of the Ducks Unlimited organization. After taking a year off, like most things last year due to COVID, the local DU Banquet returned Saturday, May 15.
More than 100 people from around the state came to celebrate, raise money for Ducks Unlimited and show their support for the organization.
Local businesses donated items for the Silent and Live auctions, as well as the new Mystery Bag Raffle, and the Ducky Table. Volunteers from Lincoln and surrounding areas helped to organize, facilitate and run the event to raise money for waterfowl conservation efforts.
There was a fantastic meal provided by the Montanan Steakhouse, which did not disappoint. Local students helped serve, clear and clean, as well as show off the live auction items to be bid on to raise money. Lincoln teachers Nancy Schwalm and Gary Roberson helped the students.
Friendly comradery and serious determination showed through the crowd as bidders tried to outbid one another for chances on guns and other auction items.
"All-in-all, it was a great night and great to see everyone enjoying themselves," said chapter Co-Chair Ernie Lundberg.
The event, which is normally held in April, was postponed this year due to other statewide organization events, but there are plans to return to its normal April timeframe in 2022. Dates for that event will be announced soon.
