Joyce past away peacefully on Aug. 29, 2021 of natural causes surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born to Oscar & Margaret Kampf on Aug.4, 1939 in Havre, Montana.
Joyce, along with her Mom, Dad & six sisters lived on a ranch in the foot hills of Beaver Creek south of Havre. Her parents sold the ranch and moved to town when she was about 12. She worked several local jobs, was a member of the local 4-H Club, and graduated from Havre High.
On March 22, 1957 she married her high school sweetheart, Gerry B. Malek. Together they moved 39 times around Montana following construction work. They were blessed with three children, Margaret (Maggie), William, Frank J.2nd., three grandchildren & five great grandchildren.
In 1971 they bought a cabin in Lincoln, Mont. & in 1976 with the purchase of the Sportsman Motel they moved to Lincoln full time. They purchased the Lincoln Lodge in 1980. Joyce later got her real estate license and joined Gerry in the real estate business. While in Lincoln she was a member of the Ponderosa Snow Warriors snowmobile club and at one time was president of the Lincoln Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Joyce enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, cooking (she was a great cook & baked the best cookies) & sewing. Joyce & Gerry were Snow Birds in their RV for nine years, then bought a winter home in Thousand Palms, Calif., which they enjoyed for 13 years. In 2012 they made their home back in Lincoln, which will be her final resting place.
Joyce was preceded in death her parents Oscar Kampf & Margaret Matulka, sisters Margie Gatzemeier & Donna Knudson. She leaves behind her husband Gerry of 64 years, three children, Maggie (Tim) Mulcare, William J. & Frank J.2nd., grandchildren, Lindsey (Mike) Hinshaw, Kimberly Mulcare & Andrew (Kelsey) Malek. Five great grandchildren, Reese Green, Brody Broman, Anna Eaton, Benji & Nora Malek. Sisters Caroyln Staples, Florence (Robert) Brown, Beverly (Dave) Little & Patty (Larry) DeRosa.
At her request she was cremated and will be laid to rest at the Old Lincoln Cemetery. No services are planned at this time.
