Christmas Stroll is coming to Lincoln

Christmas will be here before we know it. Luckily for locals and those coming to visit during the holidays, especially during the weekend of Dec. 4, there will be lots of festivities for everyone during Lincoln's annual Christmas Stroll. The goal of the Christmas Stroll is to bring people to town to get into the holiday spirit, shop, visit attractions, eat, drink and enjoy everything Lincoln has to offer during the holidays.

Folks can start or end their day with a wagon ride through the Sculpture Park, provided by Billy Cyr and his team of horses. Pick up and drop off location will be at the Valler Market & Coffee parking lot. The rides are planned from 11a.m.-3p.m. There is no charge for the ride, but tips are appreciated.

Shops taking part in the Christmas Stroll include 406 MT Merc, Heritage House, Hi Country Trading Post, Montana Fur Traders, On the Rocks Liquor Store, Rusty Relics, Teresa G's and Valler Coffee. Citizens Alliance Bank will also feature local artists and their artwork, and the community can see the new addition. These local shops will have lots of holiday merchandise, and local artisan and craftsman's wares. Some of the shops are also planning a raffle to win a holiday gift basket.

Santa's Workshop is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, where children ages 4-14 can make handmade gifts for Christmas. The cost is $5 per child, and they will go home with several gifts for friends and family members. Afterwards, kids can head over to the Lincoln Library to pick up a holiday take and make kit, and then on down to the Powerhouse Gym from noon to 2 p.m. for some hot cocoa and snacks. April Erickson's art students will have their artwork on display at the gym as well.

The annual Christmas Craft Bazaar will also be on tap at the historic Lincoln Community Hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are several vendors, including crafters and artisans along with some local direct sales favorites, lined up to fill the Hall with unique items perfect for holiday gift-giving. During the bazaar, one lucky winner will be drawn for this year's Community Hall Quilt fundraiser. For tickets contact Renee Lundberg at 406-362-4072. Several local shops and restaurants/bars also have tickets available for purchase. To see the quilt on display, stop into the bank. You can purchase tickets from Tammy at the bank while you're there.

The Christmas Stroll committee has also been working with some of the local churches to have Christmas carolers singing outside the Hall to help everyone get into the holiday spirit.

Once shoppers have checked items off their Christmas shopping list, they can stop at one of Lincoln's local eateries or bars to warm up - and fill up. Several establishments are planning to have food and drink specials throughout the day,

The committee is hoping local businesses can have their Christmas lights up in town by December 4th to help create a festive atmosphere for visitors.
