Kids share thanks and plans for gifts made at Santa's Workshop

To those who make Santa's Workshop possible: This year was the busiest year yet! Lincoln School gym was a flurry of glue, nails, ribbons, keychains, bottles, stickers and wrapping paper while over ninety-five children got to work making Christmas gifts for their loved ones. Thank you so much for your generosity, your time, and your patience. Lincoln's Council for the Arts is so lucky to have your support. Here's what the kids have to say:

I made a heart thing for my mom. I love her so much. She's the best. She teaches me good, and doesn't get in fights with her people."

~ Brody, 1st grade

"I made my mom a snow globe with a picture of me inside it. I thought she'd like to look at it when she misses me."

~ Adrianna, 1st grade

"I made my grandpa this box. I made it because he works a lot, and if he has a tool, he can put it in there."

~ Jacob, 1st grade

"I made almost everything. It was really fun. After that we went on a sleighride. It is like a dream a kid would have, to go to Santa's Workshop and make all those things."

~Presley, 4th grade

"I'm new here. I've never seen a Santa's Workshop before. It was fun!"

~Arie, 4th grade

"I made a box and a keychain and I made a book holder. One side is a bread and the other side is an apple. My aunt can put fruit in there. Fruit is juicy, and it makes the counter wet if it isn't in a box. I saw Santa Claus. I told him I wanted a unicorn or a seahorse with stickers on it."

~ Lilly, Kindergarten

"I made one of those boxes for candy, and I made a couple of keychains. I made a wreath because of my mom - her would like it."

~Emma, Kindergarten

"I `made a light-up snowman for my mom and dad. They need the light to see when they eat at night."

~Emmitt

"I made, technically, everything. The wreath I'm going to give my dad. I love him so much. He works hard, I mean really hard, even in the night. He gets up early in the morning to work, too. That's why I want to give it to him."

~Ryan, 3rd grade

"I made a rubber band thing. I am going to keep it for myself because I made it."

~Randy, Pre-K

"I pounded some nails in the wood, and then I made it into a tub and then I put a sucker in it. I will keep it because we have other candy to put in it."

~Jackson, Pre-K

"At Santa's Workshop you go build stuff, like for example, a box. And you put candy in it. I was going to make a glitter thing, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to because the glitter didn't stick. I kept it anyway. I'll take it to grandma cuz she has a hot glue gun."

~Alison, 2nd grade

"I made a napkin holder for my mom. It's better than keeping them in a drawer or a plastic bag. My brother made a snow globe for me, so my way of thanking him was to make the same thing for HIM!"

~Emilia, 2nd grade
