Arts Council plans pasty sale and more

The Lincoln Council for the Arts had their first meeting of 2022 to discuss their upcoming Pasty Fundraiser as well as upcoming events for the year. They are excited to bring more entertainment and art to Lincoln in the coming year.

To get the year started, The Lincoln Council for the Arts, in conjunction with the Upper Blackfoot Valley Historical Society, will again be selling pasties as their first fundraiser for the year.

Last year, there was a competition between the presidents of both organizations to see who could sell the most pasties. While nothing has been officially announced in that arena, you can still show your support to either or both organizations this year. Pasties are currently being sold via pre-sale through March 1 and will be available for pick up Saturday, March 12 at the Community Hall. Pasties are $6 each or five for $25. To place your order, stop into the BVD office and talk to Erin Dey, Citizens Alliance Bank and talk to Julie Zarske or Tammy Jordan, Lincoln Public School and talk to Annette Gardner, or contact Laura Butler at 406-202-4566.

On April 6, the Arts Council will be bringing the Empire Trio to town for an evening performance. The trio has been working with locals virtually to bring a live performance to the stage. It will be like Broadway comes to Lincoln and will provide those who don't get into the city often to see a play or musical an opportunity to do so right here in Lincoln. More information will be released closer to the event with ticket information and performance times.

The Arts Council welcomes new members and reminds past members that annual membership dues are due at this time. Cost of membership is $20 and is a way to support the Council for the Arts and the programming it provides to Lincoln. Members are encouraged to attend meetings but it is not a requirement of membership. To pay dues, please send check to Lincoln Council for the Arts. PO Box 893, Lincoln, MT 59639.

Additionally, the board is seeking a person to fill the Secretary position after Kate Radford's departure at the end of 2021. Anyone interested should contact Arts Council President, Laura Butler at 406-202-4566.

Lastly, in an effort to bring more meaningful and relevant programming to Lincoln, the Arts Council is also looking for suggestions for things people in Lincoln want to see from them. To share your thoughts and ideas, please reach out to them via email at: [email protected].
