Lincoln man charged with strangulation
David Allen Ward, 40, of Lincoln was charged with felony strangulation of a partner or family member, felony assault with a weapon and misdemeanor violation of a no-contact order following a Dec. 27 incident on North 4th Street in Lincoln.
According to reports, Ward wrapped his arm around the victims neck and squeezed until she went unconscious. Ward is also alleged to have gone after the victim with a power saw after she regained consciousness.
A no-contact order had been in place between Ward and the victim, but she claimed she had been living with him since early December, which Ward denied.
