Sharing Christmas 2021 in Lincoln: A belated Thank You

Here it goes: a better late than never, long overdue thank you.

I don't know where the time goes but it went by fast. Sorry I'm so late in getting this out.

Thanks to everyone who bought gifts and/or helped make so many happy at Christmas time.

Our seniors at the senior center had a very nice Christmas dinner. Thank you to the Putt-Putt Bonnie Christian who supplied the roast beef. Thank you, Donna Forkan and Diane Ironi, for flipping the bill and paying for the dinner.

Our town donated very nice items, baskets, and money to our silent auction. We were able to collect around $1,200. Thank you all!

There were a lot of gifts given to different seniors through the month of December. Lots of yummies were made for them and some of our seniors also got a very nice fun food box. We also were able to give out what I call memory boards with markers to write reminders on or a grocery list to some of our seniors.

We gave away 15 turkey baskets for Thanksgiving and 40 Christmas food boxes. Included in the spirit of giving, we did family movie night baskets and cookie making baskets to some families again. The Community Bible Church took on doing a lot for the family movie night and cookie making baskets. They did a wonderful job on them. The movie boxes had DVD player movies, candy, popcorn, drinks, bowls, etc. The cookie boxes had cookie sheets, mixing utensils, all ingredients for making and decorating the cookies, apron, mitts, etc.

Many thanks to the Catholic Church for helping with the senior food boxes with special items and meat; thank you Jill Frisbee for all your help with the gifts for kids. We did special items for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, tenth grade, eleventh grade, and 12th grade. The elves worked very hard to do as much as they could. We gave 149 kids treats and juice.

Thank you Ranae Brown and Mountain View Co-op. Santa had to be in Florida so the fire truck with Santa couldn't happen. Santa is always so busy. We delivered extra gifts to 68 kids to make their Christmas more special.

The angel tree is always at Citizens Alliance Bank the first part of November with tags. The kids' age and wants are on the tags for you to do shopping. The bank also has a food box out to collect food items and our school kids collected some food items to help out.

Thank you for Renae Brown, my super elf, and Joyce Ferguson for picking it up and running with it. Donna Forkan is always there to help out a lot. Cherie Johnson loves to shop with me, thank you.

Kudos to Becca O’Leary and Harold Bickel for flying the turkeys out, Citizens Alliance Bank for the drop-off and pick-up, BVD for the ads, and all you secret elves who donated and or shopped for so many at Christmas time, and blessings to Sandy Caudill and her friends who made some very nice blankets. Thank you to all who helped share Christmas and the Christmas spirit with our town.

The thrift store also had a Christmas sale where everything was $1, no matter what item it was. Many people got some wonderful items. We are open Fridays 10a.m. to 4 p.m. Our proceeds go back to our town. Thank you to everyone who donates and shops at our thrift store. Donations can be made Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays behind the senior center with Diane at 8 to 10 a.m. or 12 to 2 p.m. Any questions or to check about donation items to our thrift store, call 406-362-4504, between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thank you for what you do for our town.
