County Elections Office offers tips for the upcoming Primary

Helena, MT – With a return to in-person voting, the Lewis and Clark County Elections Office offers tips to help voters successfully navigate the Primary Election on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Before heading to the polls, the Elections Office recommends confirming your voter information by visiting the My Voter Page on the Secretary of State website at https://sosmt.gov/. Some voting locations have changed since the last in-person election and voters can find their polling place on the My Voter Page or by calling the Lewis and Clark County Elections Office at (406) 447-8339.

Remember to bring identification with you to the polls. Voters will be required to present photo identification such as a Montana driver's license, military, or tribal identification card. For more information on acceptable forms of photo identification visit https://sosmt.gov/voter-id/.

When filling out the ballot, voters are reminded to check both sides of the ballot as there are initiatives which may be printed on the reverse.

Absentee ballots should be mailed back at least one week before Election Day so they arrive in the Elections Office before the 8:00 P.M deadline. They may also be dropped off at the Elections Office during business hours or at any polling place until 8:00 P.M. on Election Day. The Lewis and Clark County Elections Office is located in the City-County Building, 316 N. Park Avenue, Helena, MT.

Voters who are no longer on the absentee list can be added to the list by visiting your local election office. Voters not on the absentee voter list should go to their polling place to vote.

If you are not currently registered to vote, Voter Registration closes at noon on Monday, June 6, 2022. Same day registration is no longer in effect. To register to vote, please visit your local Elections Office.
