Letter: Big Mountain Trail clean up, firewood opportunity

As of July 1, 2022, the US Forest Service has allowed the Big Mountain Snowmobile trail open for clearing and gathering firewood. The Ponderosa Snow Warriors will be having a major trail clearing party, July 16, meeting at the PSW Club House on Sucker Creek Road at 6 a.m., to try to beat the heat and get some trails cleared.

We need all hands on deck as this is a huge undertaking and we have to get one of the most popular trails back open. The USFS is allowing access to Big Mountain the whole month of July.

If you need firewood, come up to Big Mountain and cut some wood right off the trail. If you are cutting the trees, Please make sure to cut back a few feet from trail edge, leave NO HIGH STUMPS! Clean up the area where you are loading wood!

We hope to see all on July 16. Once again, we are meeting at Clubhouse at 6 a.m. to beat the heat. If you can't meet then, come out to the Big Mountain trail.

Any questions, please contact our PSW President Forest Mercill, 1-406-475-5786 for more details.

It doesn't get much easier than this to get firewood, pass the word and lets get this area cleaned up. This is a community clean up, come and a get some firewood.

Thank You, hope to see you up there!!
