Lincoln's Annual Clothing Giveaway 2022 was an amazing success!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who donated clothes and to everyone who shopped for clothes. And a special thank you to our wonderful volunteers: Margie Beckman, Trudy Bouma, Renee Campbell, Sandy Caudill, Mary Curtis, Nancy Frandsen, Bob Frank-Plumlee, Carolyn and Stan Hoer, Kay Hollingworth, Sue Howsmon, Sylvia Johnson, Brandi Langlois, Renee Lundberg, Rich Paul, Debbie Rauber, Becky Terman, Heidi Vulcan, Marge Wahlm and Dean Yonkovich.
A special thank you to Erin and Roger Dey at the Blackfoot Valley Dispatch for advertising the Clothing Giveaway and for printing enough posters for us to paper the town. Thank you Eleanor Pierce at the Lincoln Library, for providing whatever supplemental copies were needed. Thank you, business owners, for allowing us to display the posters for this popular community event.
A big thank you to Becky and Teresa Garland for the use of their hanging racks, which improve the display of donated items and greatly facilitate shopping.
Thank you to Rich Paul and Dawn Paul Charron for the roadside signs that lured both Lincoln traffic and Highway 200 traffic. Travelers passing through Lincoln, who stopped and shopped, were in awe of Lincoln's Clothing Giveaway, asking: "Is everything really free?" and "Where does all this come from?" We took great pride in acknowledging Lincoln's giving spirit.
Another big thank you to volunteers who loaded their vehicles with boxes and bags to deliver our remaining items to charities in Helena, Missoula and Great Falls: Nancy Frandsen, Carol Korman and Michele Songer. A special thank you to Michele Songer for taking multiple loads in multiple directions.
Thank you to everyone who donated cash in support of our unique Community Hall that we in Lincoln are so proud of and thankful for. Your donations are very much appreciated. Thank you, Ernie and Renee Lundberg, for being so easy to work with, and for being so supportive of the Clothing Giveaway.
Again, thank you, supporters, shoppers and volunteers. Congratulations, Lincoln, on another successful Clothing Giveaway, continuing the tradition started by Sylvia Johnson and Jesse Sallin in 1987. What a wonderful idea! What an enduring tradition! Let's keep it going!
