With determination and a good attitude, the hometown Lady Lynx ran onto the court ready to play hard in their rematch with the Drummond Lady Trojans.
After a recent away game loss to the Trojans the Lincoln gals were anxious to get a win and even up the competition.
However, a cold start in the first two sets, 12 - 25, 8 - 25, gave the Lynx ladies a steep hill to climb, even though the volleys were long and very competitive. As usual Jess Zarske, Kylee Copenhaver and Sophomore Krymzen Dempster pounded their serves like cannon balls, but errors in the volley returns cost the Lynx points they badly needed.
The Drummond bench had a few more players than the Lincoln bench, but the strength and skill of the six Trojan starters was almost faultless and they stayed on the floor for most of the game.
Ace serves blazed over the net from Lady Lynx Jaylin Lewinight, Zarske and Demptster, igniting cheers and whoops from the crowd. The friends and families of the Lady Lynx were loudly enthusiastic and vocal in their encouragement, leading to a final set that was a close contest, 20 - 25.
The next home game for the Lady Lynx varsity is Saturday, October 15th at 4:30 against the Darby Lady Pirates.
