Jr. High Lady Lynx take a swat at Seeley Lake Lady Blackhawks Oct. 12 at home

All good things eventually come to an end. Amid tears and smiles, the junior high school Little Lady Lynx wrapped up their season against a tough opponent – the Seeley Lake Lady Blackhawks.

Backed up by an exceptionally skilled 'B' team, the 7th and 8th grade ladies on the 'A' team showed their stuff by pulling out a win in the first set, 25 – 22,  against Seeley. Ahead for most of the set, the Lady Little Lynx saw the Black Hawks roar back and almost take the win away from them. Whew! A close call.

After a brief rest, the Lynx ran out to try to win the second set, but lacking focus, the local ladies never had the lead and ended up losing 17 – 25. In the final set, Jordyn Zarske had two aces with her hot over-hand jump serves, but it wasn't enough to claim the win, and the Lady Little Lynx lost the final 7 – 15.

The MOA referee for the match said to the fans behind her between the second and third sets, "Your team is exceptionally  skilled, one of the best I have seen this year."

The games were exciting to watch with many long volleys which, unfortunately, often went awry for the Lady Lynx.  But, with a big turn out of students for both A and B teams, next year looks promising for the Lynx.
