Montana Sled Dog, Inc. (Race to the Sky) announces that Dylan Neumiller of Helena, Montana, is named the new Race Manager for the 300 & 100 mile races happening every February near Lincoln. Montana Sled Dog, Inc. is the parent 501(c)3 nonprofit that organizes Race to the Sky each year.
Neumiller, a volunteer at the last Race to the Sky, is "excited to get going on race projects," get to know race volunteers and plan for the 2024 Race to the Sky. He brings great team-building skills, technical computer experience, troubleshooting, networking and organizational skills to the Montana sled dog race. He is formerly from Missoula, Montana and a Montana native
The 2024 Race to the Sky is the group's 39th sled dog race and boasts of a 300 mile Iditarod qualifier and 100 mile junior and 100 mile adult races in February each year. The race has made changes over the years, starting out as a 500 mile sled dog race and paring it down to a 350, then 250 and 350 and finally settling on a 300 and 100 mile distance for the racers. Dog mushers come from all over the United States and Canada to test their dogs against some of the best in the country and run in the beautiful mountains of Montana.
Neumiller would like to invite anyone interested to sign up to help the Race to the Sky. It takes a small army to put on the family-friendly event and he looks forward to working with the volunteers. Planning the Race to the Sky is a year-round task and currently, the organizers are seeking local and national sponsors to help offset the purse, stipends for professional veterinarians and race marshalls who assist with the race, administration costs, permits, etc. to put on a quality race.
