Lincoln - Carol Darlene Wells, 84 years old, of Lincoln, MT, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 7:15 p.m.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and Delos Wells; two sisters: Pat Hutsell and Joyce Wells; and two brothers: Richard and Merle Wells.

Carol is survived by two sisters: Myrna Wells and Phyllis Ward.

She was a pillar of strength in the family and was considered the best bonus mom and grandmother to all her nieces and nephews.

Carol was born on her family's farm November 8, 1938, in Granville, ND. During the depression years, their farm was sold and her family moved to Butte, MT, in search of work. In the early 1940s the family moved to Lincoln, where her father worked in the Mike Horse mine, logged, and worked at Mixer sawmill. Her parents bought their Lincoln property in 1946. During her young adult years, Carol moved to California to work for their family-owned business, Welco Industries. In 1977, she returned to Lincoln and owned and operated Ponderosa Hardware store until it closed in 1989.

Carol's contributions of volunteer work, serving on local boards, lending her teachings and offering her helping hand are just a few examples that radiated her passion for life. We have all been blessed because of her wisdom, strength, and everlasting love to guide our footsteps in the world she cherished until our Lord Jesus Christ took her home.

Carol was passionate about supporting the local children's ministry.

Arrangements are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory in Missoula.
