Closures issued in response to Sidney Fire as closures lifted for Rogers Pass Fire

HEART BUTTE, Mont., Aug. 8, 2023 - The Sidney Fire is estimated to be just under 50 acres and is burning approximately 21 miles southwest of Browning in Pondera County. The Rocky Mountain Ranger District trail crew first reported the fire late in the afternoon on Aug. 1.

"It is necessary to close trails adjacent to the fire for public safety," said Rocky Mountain District Ranger Mike Munoz.
