Lincoln students star in MCT's Treasure Island

Lincoln School students starred in the Missoula Children's Theater's adaptation of Treasure Island, with two performances following a week of rehearsals.

The Mariners, Hawkins family, Ruffians and Treasures come together for a song.

Starring Claire Gilbert as Jim Hawkins and MCT actor Olivia Woodall as Captain Long John Silver, the tale sees Hawkins discover a treasure map at his family inn, with Silver seeking to take advantage of the youngster to recover treasure left on Skull Island.

With a small band of ruffian friends, Hawkins joins Silver and the oddball crew of his ship.

The ruffians (Emma Dey, Brody Nelson and Ezekiel Mitchell) take a break as teh narrative moes on around them.

After journeying to the island they not only discover the treasure but Silver and crew realize working with Hawkins and his ruffians is more productive than trying to trick them.

The kids performed the play to a packed house Friday evening, May 2 and followed up with a second performance during the afternoon of Saturday May 3.

Missoula Children's Theater returns to Lincoln every two years to give students a chance to sing, dance and act in a production based on popular fairy tales and classic books.

This year MCT is celebrating their 50th year of touring and bringing family friendly productions to schools and communities across the nation.
