Lincoln School board turns to Heisler

At its August 12 meeting, he Lincoln School Board of Trustees voted to hire former Superintendent Kathy Heisler as an interim Superintendent for one year while the District looks for a long term administrator.

The Trustees had previously hired Mike Boyle, an experienced administrator, to take over the position after Jennifer Packer's retirement on June 20, 2024. But Mr. Boyle resigned only one week after beginning work in July 2024, after finding the commuting distance from his home was more burdensome than he expected.

The District then received four applications for the again-vacant Superintendent position, and after discussion they voted to offer the interim position to Heisler based on her long history of service to the District as a beloved teacher, counselor, principal and long-time Superintendent.

Also returning to the District on a temporary basis is Carol Williams who had served as the District Clerk for over 20 years prior to her retirement in 2022. Carol will be available to the District as a Clerk consultant for what is expected to be 2-4 months.

The return of the Heisler-Williams administrative leadership team was met with a general sense of confidence and gratitude by the Trustees and Patrons in attendance at Monday's meeting. Heisler and Williams will keep the District operational while the Trustees seek permanent administration for the District.
